Settmacher, die in der Linzerstraße im 14. Bezirk ihre Niederlassung
hatte und über hundert Jahre existierte. Die Lesung besteht aus
literarischen und historischen „found footage“ aus dem Dachboden der
aufgelassenen Firma und Onlineartikel. Die Lesung gibt ungewöhnliche
Einblicke in den Alltag einer Fingerhutfabrik während des Zweiten
Weltkrieges …

Reading: the legendary storys of the Viennese Metallarenfabrik Settmacher

A reading of historical “found footage” of the factory during WWII. The material was found in the attic of the old factory.
By means ofour until now published brochures about persons and groups that belong to the anarchist movment (like Leo Rothziegel, Alfred Saueracker and the Styrian antifascist groups “Licht und Brot” and “Freiheit” we will give a briefhistoric overview about the anarchist movement. Fore sure, it’s not possible to miss out about the work struggles like the occasions ofthe printers’ strike in 1914 and the syndicalist attempts to organising during that time. Another topic is the short revolutionary phase after the collapsing ofthe Habsburg monarchy in 1918, about which we also want to go on with our recherche in the upcoming jubilee year of 2018 – but more about this at our presentation!
